The immediate Landers closure decision is paused for now.
Budget, boundary and facilities discussions continue, and we will keep tracking the numbers, documents and any return of a closure proposal.
Z107.7 reported at least 200 people at the September 10 Landers meeting, where families, students, staff and residents spent nearly three hours challenging the consolidation case. No final Board decision to close Landers has been made. Read the Z107.7 report →
MUSD advanced Landers consolidation through the August 25 study session and September community meetings while major questions remained about net savings, transportation, receiving-site costs and which alternatives were actually implemented first.
Landers remains open. No final closure decision has been made. The next major checkpoints are the Oct. 13 Board meeting and the Oct. 22 study session on budget stabilization and possible boundary changes.
